I complained to my manager a week ago about being underpaid. They weren’t paying me for “being engaged to work”, which is illegal under the FSLA (you can check my last post here for more detail). Anyway, my manager called the district manager and they told me that I would be on call during truck days from now on, and they would fix my pay for what I had already worked. They ended up only adding 1 hour of pay for the 4 hours that I deserved to get paid. When this happened, I decided not to press the complaint any further since this was getting fixed in the future, but now they have cut out half of my hours on the schedule. They also hired a new person right after I complained to fill in the spot.
I plan on quitting soon but I want to get all my wages that I am owed and report the manager for retaliation, however, I don’t know if this will work since HR always sides with management and it’s not enough wages stolen for the government to mess with. What can I do? I want them to know that they can’t break the law and get away with it
