I did an interview via Zoom and when I enter the call I heard an automated voice saying “this meeting is being recorded”. The interviewer grins and looks at me and asks me if it’s okay. What am I supposed to say? Why couldn’t they have told me before that it was going to be a recorded interview?

I didn't want a video recorded of me, but it's hard to not consent, given the power dynamic. They're holding a job over my head, and if I don't agree to be recorded, do you think they might hold that against me?

To top it off, I didn't get the gig. I want the recording destroyed/deleted. Nope, it's their property now.
