3 years of grueling work making less than a worker at a car wash. I am free of high caseloads and limited funding allocation to provide adequate care for my clients. I stayed in this job for several years and what kept me was a feeling of duty to my clients. Thank you all on this sub for helping realize I am worth putting in the same effort into myself. To my clients; I truly did care about you and will still think about you all from time to time. To my employer and all social work entities; shove it. Many state ran care facilities make insane amounts of money from grants and self pay court appointed clients. Many of my co workers had second jobs- Uber, night time jobs, serving tables after work. I will never understand why workers in this field are not paid enough.
