Well I finally found the job where the value the workers. All the workers. Dishwashers making $25 an hour that have been at the job for 30 years. You read that right, 30 years. Full benefits, vacation, PTO, great insurance. And yearly better than inflation raises.
I just took the executive position, I was shocked that not only was it an hourly position with actual overtime but the rate is amazing. $55. They handed me a corporate CC and my own golf cart day one. Permission to spend $1000 decorating my office. 3 weeks of PTO day one with 5 weeks after a year!
You mean when I’m stuck at work for 16 hours on Christmas I’m actually being paid extra for that hard work? Not the same barely livable salary? What’s that you say? Double time on 8 holidays per year‽ MATCHING FUCKING 401k!!!!
I almost humped the HR lady right then and there signing my hiring paperwork.
Now I find out dishwashers and cooks that have been at their jobs for years? Livable wages‽ praise Jebus on a cracker!
Just excited and somewhat bragging. But I also wanted y’all to know they do exist. It is out there. Don’t abandon all hope. I did 15 years ago. Now I feel joy going into work. Literal joy.
