I don’t understand this mentality

I work at a spa run by a cheap person who is bad at managing a business. We are constantly running out of laundry which is a bit of a problem when doing massage. I go get lunch and come back to find multiple therapist folding laundry complaining about the laundry situation. I immediately turned around and left to eat my lunch outside. I don't get complaining about doing something that's not your job while doing it. No one is forcing them to do laundry. They are doing it so we don't run out. My response is always “and?” This is massage you can never count on a stable income. So I could care less if we literally turn customers away because the boss is to lazy to hire people to do laundry. I'm not going to do laundry on my lunch break. They are working through their lunch break…
