I currently work as a security guard and I'm overworked and severely underpaid. I hate my job as I constantly get up at 5am, I hate doing a 45 min commute by bike or almost 2 hours by bus, being asked to do overtime, being shuffled around posts, and relying on my relief to relieve me.
I want a career change to being able to work from home. At least I'm in my own home when they ask me to do overtime, I can have as many breaks as I like if the work is going slow or I get my work done early, plus I work in a comfortable environment.
I do have computer skills I know Micorosoft Office, Google Docs, Team Viewer, programs like that. I don't have a Bachelor's degree or 5 years of experience. But I did go to a couple of community colleges for 3 to 5 years for history or general studies classes. I dropped out due to having low grades and such. I also have fast typing skills. I just don't want to work in security or other commuting jobs since I know WFH is now a option. Has anyone else gone from being a security guard to now working from home?
