I had my first day at a new position yesterday, and while I was doing your typical paperwork and policy reading for the first week, my mind exploded more and more. I was training in with another woman who is the same title as me (different areas of the building, but we're a new team now).
“Holy shit, this stuff is how it's supposed to be??”
She looked flabbergasted at what I realized was not actually legal. It was the typical denying of bathroom breaks, not allowing me to clean myself up after my blood was exposed to an INFANT classroom, and some more darker personal issues that my previous boss was fully aware of the whole time of my employment (a year and a half). My favorite was having all of us actually considering wearing adult diapers to combat the ability to use the bathroom.
I felt so good after submitting the complaint. I don't care if old co-workers get pissed about the complaint. All I want is for no one there to ever feel the way I did. OSHA may or may not contact me, but I hope the situation gets attention AND swiftly dealt with.
TL;DR: Filed complaint with OSHA about previous employer to prevent other workers being subjected to horrors I had when I was there.
