I genuinely feel sorry for people who enjoy working in an office rather than working from home

I work in IT. I worked from home the entire pandemic. Our entire company did. We proved that it is possible to do all of our jobs remotely. In fact, our stock tripled during the pandemic. Now I am back in the office (despite requesting to continue working from home) because everyone else wants to be here and they need me in case there is an issue on-site. I wouldn’t need to be here if it wasn’t for everyone else insisting to work in the office . Everyone in my office is talking about “Oh – it’s so nice to be back in the office. My husband and kids were driving me crazy” (etc) I enjoyed working from home. I got to see my wife every morning and I saved tons of money on gas. It’s just not right that because people have a miserable life at home, they have…

I enjoyed working from home. I got to see my wife every morning and I saved tons of money on gas. It’s just not right that because people have a miserable life at home, they have to drag me into this corporate hell of small talk and coffee breaks.
