So, I, like many contractors get no holiday, vacation, or sick pay.
So, I'm working a 30 hour per week job. I get benefits through my contracting firm.
In order to keep my benefits I have to compress my schedule during holiday weeks in order to work 30 hours in fewer days otherwise I will lose my insurance for the month.
I'm fully dedicated to the company I work for. I should be an employee. However, they keep me as a contractor because it is cheaper.
Starting tomorrow, in order to get all my hours in and be able to make doctor's appointments (I'm disabled, which is why I work a reduced schedule), I'm going to be getting up at 4:00 AM.
And I'm 'lucky' that my bosses let me make the hours up, otherwise I would just lose pay abd benefits intermittently throughout the year.
