For context, I work in fast food and about 5 people in the past few weeks have gotten COVID. I’ve worked with all of them really closely because I’m full time.
I tested positive for COVID on Thursday and continued to have a fever until Sunday. Then on Monday I got a fever again which went away yesterday. Then last night as I was going to get myself water I tripped downstairs and I guess I twisted in a weird way because I heard a pop. Now I can’t walk and it hurts when I lift my leg.
I got a call this morning, I could tell my boss was furious. She asked me all about how it happened and when it happened. Apparently I’m lying because how could I know I popped a ligament if I’ve never popped one before? And how could I have COVID and not get better for a week?
Now I have to prove to them that I hurt myself by going to the doctor, which is understandable because I can’t work. However, what if I’m wrong and I just have a low pain tolerance? If that happens I’m sure they’ll be mad and use it as proof that I was “faking it”.
I don’t know I’m just using this post as a venting outlet because I’m now really anxious and feel like they’re screwing me.
Also, I’m thinking about taking time off from work because it’s absolutely gruelling and causes me a lot of anxiety lately. I have a feeling they’ll put these 2 things together and again tell me I faked it.
