I got hurt at work

I got hurt at work and have been put on workers comp for a little over a month, while im waiting to see a surgeon I've been released to go back with the conditions I'm light duty, shorter shifts, and allowed to sit when needed The problem is I'm a salaried manager and the company wants me to go to an hourly rate for the shorter shifts, is that even legal?
