So get this. Ive (28) been working for a well known machine shop that produces equipment for 10 years. Proved myself by being the hardest worker in the shop. Literally started from the bottom as an assembler, moved through being a grinder, painter, machinist, to being one of the “on floor” managers of the machine shop. In 2020 I mentioned I was having shoulder pain from doing what I was doing at the time which involved heavily lifting, pneumatic tools and use of slide hammers 500 plus times a day
The company denied it being work related and I have had to pay out of pocket for everything. And yes I have lawyered up.
After 3 MRI's the first surgeon gave me 3 steroid shots, put me in physical therapy for 8 weeks and sent me back to work. WHILE IM STILL COMPLAINING ABOUT PAIN.
2nd opinion surgeon did 2 more MRI's, took me back out of work and decided to do arthroscopic surgery in December and ended up finding a torn rotator cuff, labrum and multiple bone spurs. All while being on short term disability. Finally healing up from the first one when the opposite side started having the same issues.
So I just had a other MRI on that side earlier this week. They found the exact same thing as the other shoulder and want to proceed with surgery again.
When I gave the news to HR and my supervisor, I was terminated. Because “I transferred from short term disability to long term and they could no longer hold my position” WHAT THE FUCK.
So I go from working 80-90 hours a week and consecutively having more hours and productivity percentages than anyone else in the shop, to now being unemployed and looking at 1 if not 2 more surgeries. FUCK CORPORATE AMERICA
