As a construction worker you bounce around from company to company, job to job. I was with a company for 3 months and they slowed down so the owner referred me to his friends company. They made a agreement, without me agreeing to, that I would come back when they get more work. I stayed with this company for over a year and a half. They are organized, pay more, and have tons of work on the books.
Well earlier this month I was told I had to go back even though I was supposed to be a lead on a job all summer that paid extremely well. I’m a new father trying to buy a house.
I went back to the first company where the make me a lead and I take a $3/hr pay cut. I call the owner explain how I’m trying to save for a house and that it would be financially beneficial for me to go back. He throws it back at me and says it was financially beneficial that he referred me to that job and I can’t go back.
I quit, I don’t like being told where I can and can’t work, and the previous company won’t hire me back even though all the foreman want me back.
So now I have no job. Rant over. Thanks for reading.
