I hate my job in insurance sales

Hey everyone. I have been in insurance sales for the last 8 months. It was my first job out of college, and at first I was excited. I work for a local agent of one of the big companies, and all in all my boss is okay and my coworkers are fine too. I just hate insurance. I hate trying to push policies on people who can’t afford them or do not want them. I graduated with a degree in political science (I know, not the most marketable degree) and I have experience working on campaigns and I had internships with my state legislature and congress. I’m just trying to figure out how to escape the industry. I don’t want to get stuck hating what I do. I’ve been applying to other jobs but I haven’t gotten anything back yet. Any advice?
