Antiwork

I have a masters degree in biology and I make $17/hr.

Finding a job in my field is impossible. I’m doing tech work (I’m basically an errand bitch) and collecting water samples from faucets all over the area. Each day I show up, I feel a little more hopeless. And I can’t quit because I have a car note and a mortgage (was only able to afford a house because my parents helped me with the down payment). My parents keep telling me that I should be happy that it “pays the bills” but…it barely does. And every day I’m coming to terms with the fact that my dreams of being an ecologist are dead. The career that I went to school for and worked my ass off for just…doesn’t exist.
