I have officially reached my breaking point.

Ill try to make this is as short and sweet as possible but I really just need to rant right now. Been working at a family own avionics company for 3 years now. People take their broken stuff off planes, we fix it, and mail it back. For the first year it was fine but right around when my first year ended it went downhill fast. It started with someone leaving. My boss called me in and asked I'd be comfortable learning for to fix the equipment the now ex-employee was fixing and he'd hire someone to work on the equipment I was currently working on because it was a little more novice friendly. “Sure” I told him “that shouldnt be an issue”. So I started working both benches I was new and eager to prove myself and figured hey their hiring someone so I just gotta keep this up…

So I started working both benches I was new and eager to prove myself and figured hey their hiring someone so I just gotta keep this up for a little bit right? Well guess what I'm still working both benches. Turns out that management gets a bonus paycheck at the end of every month that bonus is calculated on how much money each shop is making vs upkeep. So my managers have been making me do the workload of two people and not hiring someone to relieve me so they could pocket the profit. Which by the way is illegal as any company working under the FAA is not allowed to give out production bonuses as it could cause people to roll units not airworthy just to fluff their bonus check. I've watched people get hired and go to different shops even though I've been buried under work forever, I'll watched management positions go to family members who are severely underqualified, and I've even overheard management talking about not hiring people based on race. My manager is useless and my boss is toxic. My manager will tell me to roll something and then my boss will yell at me for not doing what he wants and then my manager yells at me again for getting off his project. the amount of paid holidays we have is literally the legal lowest limit. Most of the technicians are veterans and we dont get veterans day off. Today was finally my last straw as I watched our janitor, a sweet mexican lady, get yelled for “stealing” something when my manager just misplaced it and instead of apologizing called her racial slurs behind her back. I dont know what life has in store for me but I know one thing I'm sleeping in tomorrow. they can get fucked. im never going back
