I have to be dishonest to find a job and am fearful of employer retribution

I feel dumb for writing this but I need some piece of mind. I just got my first job as a software engineer but it doesn't start for another 3 months. I just got my first job as a software engineer but it doesn't start for another 3 months. However, I need to find something in the meantime to stay afloat.

I hold 2 college degrees and maintain a lengthy & consistent work history in skilled positions. I have tried looking for temporary / gig type roles or openly asking businesses to consider me in the short term and I am immediately turned down. My resume has to be a reg flag to anyone hiring as I am grossly overqualified for the types of jobs that would hire immediately.

My hope was to be honest about my situation and find a job I could cleanly break from when it comes time to transition, but I have now resigned myself to having to outright lie about my desire for the positions I apply to and completely fabricate a new resume just to get my foot in the door.

I live in an 'at-will' state but I am still concerned about having to bullshit my way into a job I only plan on working at for the next 10 weeks and face retribution when I quit. Is my fear warranted? Any suggestions on what to do?
