I just had a meeting with my direct supervisor and the HR manager. They let me know that due to performance issues, they do not think that I am fit to be in a leadership position and they are moving me from a Customer Support Supervisor position to a Customer Support Representative. This move includes a pay cut. I have not had a write up or any formal discipline before this, and my job expectations have not been clear since I moved into this role.
The closest thing to disciplinary action was three months ago we had a meeting because I was arguing to raise the wage in our department, and they did approve salary increases for the CS team but not for me. They said that it was because I was not doing all of the job tasks, and when I asked them what tasks, they were not clearly assigned tasks. At that time, I asked my supervisor to set up goals with me, as well as give me a clear outline of my job and what she expects from me, because we were clearly not on the same page. She agreed, scheduled the meeting but then rescheduled the meeting twice before just cancelling.
I kind of thought this was coming because over the past month she has been taking away some of my tasks, but she said that she was going to take them until we get fully staffed, and then I will take those tasks over from her. But I feel totally blind sighted by this.
I am obviously going to start looking for a new job, which sucks, but what the heck??
Edit: I had good performance reviews and my boss had nothing bad to say about the things that I was doing aside from that one task that she took over because we are understaffed currently.
