I had 7 glorious months of working from home. i've been working from home since the day i was hired. but that all changes this week. now it'll be 2-3 days a week and they said they will be checking the keycard log-ins to confirm we are all showing up (they can't confirm in-person because the managers don't have to be there i guess)
i honestly used to look forward to work but now the old familiar anxiety is setting it
not to mention, this will add a $65/month gas bill just to drive to work. if they ever bring us back full time that would be $130. yet when i asked if we would be compensated for this, the CEO literally laughed. a multimillion dollar corporation doesn't have the gas money to spare but somehow I do?
they gave us a survey and asked us what would incentivize us to come into the office more often. here were the answer options:
A: additional parking
B: office game nights & happy hour
C: more face-to-face interaction with team
D: more face-to-face interaction with management
notice how none of the options were “more money”?
i couldn't even answer the question. those are all reasons i do NOT want to be in the office.
i've already decided to start looking for work elsewhere.
