After over 7 years of dedication to the company, I have resigned. It was a culmination of:
Amazon taking over and wiping us clean of our culture and values while expecting us to work like warehouse workers.
And the covid pandemic. Being a front line worker at a grocery store during the pandemic was an experience I will never be able to erase from my memory. Having people yell at me for requiring masks, not selling ivermectin and being out of stock of the hoarded item of the week were a daily occurrence. Having at risk family members and young children at home made it a clear decision when they recently laxed all safety and sanitation protocol. It no longer was worth the risk.
I took a leave of absence to refocus and force myself to change my direction. 200+ applications submitted and 2 months later, I'm happy to say I'm working remotely in the field of my dreams!
