I’m 19 and work as a bartender. I just quit today with no notice because I feel I’ve been exploited. I’ve worked 2 12 hour shifts then 2 9 hour shifts back to back. I’m completely drained, I have no life outside work and I’m burnt out to my core. I get paid 9.20£ an hour in the U.K. which is a decent salary for my age, regardless it in no way shape or form compensates for the amount of stress and shit I have to put up with. All while the company records record profits. I have to deal with customers yelling at me, a badly equipped bar, all whilst being in one the busiest bar in one of the biggest cities in the U.K.. I was going to vomit today and asked if I could go home just to be met with a 😐 face from the managers, so I stayed(shouldn’t have in hindsight). I’m done, so done. Fuck them.
