I work in an international company as an electrical assembler. I'm a very high functioning autistic, people tends to bully me because I'm weird so it was a relief when – first time in my life -, I managed to completely fit in and they also saw I'm good in logical things so I got a promotion in a very short time with a month of probation. They assured me it was a legit promotion with job title change and pay raise and all…I was so freaking happy.
Time flew by I did my things fast and without mistakes, everyone was glad and probation time ended and not a word from my supervisor. I waited a few days then asked him what was going on. He asked for my patience while he consults with his boss (in fact, OUR patience because a few of my colleagues also got a raise), and fell silent again for weeks, meanwhile assuring me everything's okay they are really glad with my work, keep it up yadda yadda. In this time, mind you, I worked in a position that should pay me much much more, so the company effectively robbed me and my colleagues for two whole months with a significant amount of money. At last, my supervisor gathered us together and told us to please wait patiently because there's a huge reconstruction of salaries at the company so we'll have to wait till the HUGE CORRECTION OF WAGES they lie about for months now. Everyone knows at this point that either it never happens or best case scenario, they will build it in the yearly raise. In my case that means I will be robbed for a few months more then they will try to rip me off again when they do some wizarding with the percentages, you know what I mean.
At this point I'm burnt out and tired. I talked with my colleagues and turned out, “patience” is the company motto because they rip off everyone with this bullshit, one of them worked almost two years without a raise.
I don't want to find a new job, because I've got bills to pay and it's really risky in my case but my pride killed me, I worked with throbbing headache for days so I just told my supervisor I want my old job back thank you. He was literally speechless lol
I will do this little assembly work for a year or two, listening to audiobooks or my favorite podcasts, building my social skills then I will have the money to leave behind this fucking backwards country and do some real work. Wish me luck, thank you.
