Mentioned she used to work in healthcare at a call center. Constantly had to deny people coverage because of “pre existing conditions”🤢. As she was close to quitting, picked up a call about a families son who had a brain tumor and died only a few weeks after diagnosis in the hospital. The bill? Over 2 million dollars. The debt collectors were pushing very hard on them and from what I understood from the story, were threatning to claim their house/belongings. Well this nice lady broke the rules and forgave all that shit for them. She knew she was quitting, and had nothing to lose. She also mentioned that she did that before it was made ILLEGAL to do so. So in other words she did it before she could be held accountable and thrown into a fucking prison cell for trying not to ruin another persons life. I know there are people she denied before that paid for it, but the defining moment is when she chose NOT TO. A piece of this nice lady is in all of us, always waiting for us to fight for what's right. Do it please.
And heres a little somethin somethin for all you disgusting, unbearably ugly awful private health companies out there: When it comes to services that maintain the survival of our loved ones, it is NOT about what we may be willing to pay for our loved ones. It is about what it costs. End of story.
