Over a year ago I left my fathers company to start an apprentice ship in a machine shop. I’ve learned quite a bit in over a year but frankly the environment at this shop is extremely toxic. If you’re not constantly obsessing over your work or working overtime, the other employees ostracize you. What’s worse is that if you ask for help and don’t follow what that guy tells you to do EXACTLY they refuse to help you anymore.
With all that being said, my father asked me to the other day to come back and work for him for more pay than I was making before, and more money than I’m making now at this current facility. Though that job wasn’t always the best, I’m considering going back despite the apprenticeship being better long term career wise.
I mostly lurk here and I feel like you all know what you’re doing, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
