I need some advice about finding a different company to work for.

If this is the wrong place to post this I’m sorry but it seemed like the best place. As the title suggests I’m planning on finding a different workplace in the near future. I’m an EMT or Emergency Medical Technician in the field of Commercial ambulance. Think companies like AMR. I work for a smallish company in this field. It’s very demanding with 12 hour shifts and little to no breaks sometimes. Always in a hospital, or our ambulance driving, or a nursing home, etc, etc. I average around 250-300 miles a night sometimes. 4-5 different patients. The problem is this; the company I work for seems to the general staff to be disconnected with said staff. The pay is good but everything else is bad. Equipment were forced to work with is half broken. Benefits are nigh non existent. There is no communication with or from upper management. Ridiculousness…

I’m an EMT or Emergency Medical Technician in the field of Commercial ambulance. Think companies like AMR. I work for a smallish company in this field. The problem is this; the company I work for seems to the general staff to be disconnected with said staff. The pay is good but everything else is bad. Equipment were forced to work with is half broken. Benefits are nigh non existent. There is no communication with or from upper management. Ridiculousness is rampant. People are fleeing the company in droves.
Morale is in the toilet.

Ex. Being a medical company, management sent our HR department to “Fire Week” which is kind of like a gathering of firefighters and EMT’s to conferences and parties. And management sent them on company dime to no results. Instead of investing these funds in fixing equipment or improving morale.

I’m thinking of leaving as well but I wanted to stick my neck out before I put in my two weeks and ask upper management for a meeting. Do you think this is a good idea? If so what are some questions I can ask them?

I’m sorry for the rant. I just wanted to get another opinion on my situation and plan before going through with it.
