I just interviewed for a job at an adult toy store and they told me that I have to be “on call” for most of the days that I have off so that if someone else calls out, the shift gets covered. They also told me that I would have to work at several stores, one of which is an 11 mile drive away while the other is right down the street from my apartment. I think the “on call” system is absolute bullshit and I also think they shouldn’t be asking me yo commute that far since I only applied to the location near my place. Am I being unreasonable? Is this normal? Or am I right to think they are already asking too much of me?
