You know what I did? I kept bumping the hourly rate up until I got the quality of applicants I’m looking for. It was just that easy. Now I have another great guy on my crew and the lowest paid position is $20/hr. starting vs $15. We are a tiny family business in a niche market and I can still keep the lights on. I’m not sure why all these big businesses by me are shutting down. It’s like they would rather make zero dollars than cut their profits by a tiny margin. Ridiculous.
