I'm currently working a job I don't really like. It's not awful, but it doesn't pay enough, too far away, not enough hours, disorganized management, etc. It's an after school program for middle schoolers and most of my coworkers are HS students. They wanted me to work every shift they are open which is only 25 hrs over 5 days, not a problem, but I realized it wasn't the right fit for me and gave the owner 3 weeks of notice so they would have time to find a replacement or two.
The owner accepted the resignation gracefully over email, but then asked me the next time I was there in person if I would be willing to stay on with less hours until the summer. I don't really want to, but I was thinking it could possibly be worth it if my hourly was higher. I feel like if they can't replace me in 3 weeks then I'm probably worth more than they're offering. Right now it's $15/hr, should I try and negotiate for more or just walk away as planned?
