I quit 4 jobs in 2021 and I don’t regret it

I’ll start this off by saying quit any job that doesn’t benefit you. So many places need employees. We’re the supply in demand rn I’ll give my favorite two quitting stories of this last year. The first was Starbucks. I worked there for less than a month. The main reason I quit was because I asked for Christmas Day and the two days after off because my mom had rented a cabin so we could safely take a vacation for the first time in 2 years. My manager denied my first request and I was told it was because I didn’t put a reason as to why I wanted the time off. Shouldn’t have to put a reason but whatever. So I put my reason and sent it again. She replied “We discussed at your interview you wouldn’t get holidays off.” 1st. No we didn’t. I was just told that…

I’ll give my favorite two quitting stories of this last year.
I was just told that holidays are busy. 2nd. She was very rude. In all of her texts to me it was “Thanks for sending your paperwork!” “You’ll be at this store today (:” and by the wording of that message it was clear she was being rude. After this she only schedule me 4 am-8:30 am. Why? Why am I waking up at 3 am just to work for four and a half hours. So I quit because nobody will tell me what days I can and can’t take off and short shifts are not a punishment. As a manager, figure it out.

My second story is from a restaurant job where I worked takeout.
They had hired a new manager and I could already tell it was going to be interesting. She was only a manager and not the general manager. I hadn’t had too many issues with the management until this new one. The shifts we worked were 5 hours or 6 hours if you signed a form at orientation. I was a 6 hour so I would work 6 hours without a lunch. The schedule only ever had us scheduled for 5 hour shifts and we would stay that extra hour. I had just gotten a job substitute teaching and had early mornings everyday and worked at the restaurant usually 3:30-9:30 every night. I didn’t need the job anymore and was planning a two weeks anyways but wanted to wait until after Christmas so I could get the good tips from the holidays. Well one night she made me stay and close alone bc of call outs. It was fine I didn’t mind doing it once bc it was needed. But I was doing closing side work so I could close my drawer and leave once we closed and a customer was waiting in takeout while I was in the kitchen. Instead of walking over and letting me know I had a customer as all my other managers did, she screamed my name super loud from the kitchen door. I walked into takeout and the customers, everyone at the bar, and the people by the host stand were staring at me like I had done something wrong. I was already pissed. The next night, she told my coworker to tell me to go on a lunch. Mind you I don’t usually take a lunch. So I told my coworker to ask if I had to bc I’m a 6 hour and can stay later but don’t want to take a lunch and close. The manager walks up to my register on the front of the counter side as if she is a customer and leans over and gets in my face. I was putting a customers order in the computer and helping my friend who was a cook to order his food as well, so I was busy and there was a lot of people around. She told me I was gonna shut up and take my lunch bc when she tells me to go on a lunch I just go and don’t argue. I told her that I can take a lunch but I’d like to be off by 9:30 like the schedule says bc I am tired and have to work in the morning. She told me that I will stay however long she wants me to and do whatever she says. I told her that the schedule says I’m off at 8:30 so I will stay until 9:30 but that’s it. She said she doesn’t care what the schedule says. I clock out and go on my lunch. I almost didn’t come back. I came back so that my friend wasn’t alone but I called and quit the next day. Before I left I made everyone discuss their pay and found out the people I trained were making $2 more an hour than me. Never going back to food service
