I worked at a remote call center position for almost a year. I worked night shift most of the time, but had recently been switched to overnight (my choice). Regardless of shift, there was 0 support from management, no support from my team or anyone. When systems were down, we were still expected to take calls despite not having access to anything to document them. My first manager was incredible, probably the best manager I’ve ever had. Then I got suddenly moved to a bilingual team (I’m not bilingual) and it was just terrible. My metrics were falling, I was having 3-4 anxiety attacks a shift from being constantly berated over things I had no control over. Every time I requested to meet with my supervisor, she’d forget or not address the issues when we met.
Finally, I had enough. I sent in my resignation with no notice. I couldn’t fathom spending another day agonizing over this job that didn’t care about me at all. I’ve been in an amazing head space ever since.
