So for background I work at a gas station. We do not have the option to prepay. If you pick up the nozzle, it rings on our point of sale machines. We have to authorize them for gas sales. The only problem is that they can just skip coming inside to pay for gas. The other day someone had paid for $40 and went over by $6.99 and didn’t come in to pay. I had already came in at 3:30 am that morning and was told to work extra because someone didn’t show. I had worked a 10-8 the previous day and was chalk full of caffeine. I went home crying that night. The next day I went in and told the manager that I refused to make any pump sales and was told it was “policy”. I told her that I refuse and would walk out. She just told me she would call the owner and I knew he would say the same thing. He did. But also in own words he said it was supposed to “teach us something”. Why is this kind of thing allowed??!!
