Yesterday (boss had a vacation day today) i sat the owner and my boss down and let them know im retiring. It was a rough year for me losing my parents and having to deal with all the estates. I also have 4 cats now because i cant part with my mums. I also have homes to deal with and Crohns. So working 40 hours a week on top of things is just to much.
We already have one engineer working half days because of his depression so i'm just going to retire as to not burden the company any more trying to do half days myself. Unlike most places on here this is a good family run company, it has its flaws, but it always puts its people first. I know if i asked to do half days they would do it but to be honest i just need to break away and get my head straight.
Cobra is great because it gives me 18 months at my employers rate health insurance until i get my own or figure out what im doing with my life. (i mention this if anyone was on the fence about a joob change due to health insurance)
