I was interviewing for a position and the interviewer asked what my salary range was. I countered asking what they had planned for the position. They said it was based on a myriad of “experience” factors. They asked how many years of professional experience I have. (on my resume…) Then they asked my undergrad GPA. I'm 7 years out of college and interviewing for a position asking for 10 years experience. Not only do I not remember my GPA, but I really don't think it's applicable at this point in my career. I politely declined to continue with my interview.
Was this the right thing to do?
