We're at our highest case numbers ever. The advice is to stay home if you feel unwell. The companies policy is stay home if you feel unwell and get tested. I did a RAT test it was negative but the advice is to get a PCR test if you show symptoms as the RAT can be inaccurate but my boss has decided the a RAT test is good enough and I should come to work anyway.
I work in an office my entire job can be done remotely. There are already staff working from home. I have a home office. I advised I could start at the normal time and do my job nope still need to come into the office even though I've been moved to a different floor to be separated from the rest of my team to stop too many members of one team getting sick.
This is why covid spreads stupid bullshit like this. The head boss will be pissed if he finds out but my boss is normally pretty good so I don't want to throw him under a bus he's just very 'I never take a sick day so no one else should'.
