I think my friend is being exploited and I have no idea how to help

This might not make complete coherent sense (as this is second hand information), but here goes. I have a friend who originally was hired to be a receptionist for some language interpretation place. Of course, there's this part in his job description that said certain tasks have to be done, which at the time I didn't think it was that weird when he told me originally. Anyways, back in April my friend started asking me all these weird ass tech and IT related questions like buying an enclosure for a SSD or how to use xcopy and cmd/powershell to copy stuff over from a hard drive to an external. I asked him for the details as I didn't even think he knew half the words he was using because he's not IT, never had the training and it turns he's been performing IT tasks for a very long ass time…

I asked him for the details as I didn't even think he knew half the words he was using because he's not IT, never had the training and it turns he's been performing IT tasks for a very long ass time and even though he's not IT, doesn't get paid IT wage and it doesn't help that according to him, the other IT guy left due to health reasons so he's sacked with work that he was never trained for.

Furthermore, when I asked him for other details, he said that he's not only doing IT, but other shit as well that's WAY beyond the scope of his job. Hell, I even talked to him the other day and turns out he is even forced to provide tech support to a client at another city and the company doesn't even bother to expsense his mileage.

Of course, I asked him to see if he can renegoiate (which he tried) and what these fucks told him was that “sorry, that's what the position pays” and so my friend asks these fucks “what exactly IS my position? I do everything from IT to building security, to running errands, to contacting vendors to build fences, etc.” and those fuckers can't even answer him.

After reading the other posts here, not only does this feel like a form of wage theft, but this is some form of exploitation. I mean, what should my friend do? He's too tired to even have the energy to take it up to the department of labor and I don't think he has the energy to gather any written evidence of such fuckery. What exactly can I do to help my friend? He already is making an attempt to look for new work…but obviously he's too tired to no thanks to these fucks.
