Do not be scared to unionize. The labor department is on our side. I worked as a budtender in a conservative state. During the pandemic I saw that are company was not doing enough to protect us and attempted to unionize. A fee months later the company became aware, had an anit union meeting and eventually fired me. The union helped me report it to the labor department, and after a year and a half and taking the case all the way to court they were found guilty of multiple anti union practices, and firing me for union activity.
I just want everyone to know that even if the union doesn't work out, you are protected by the by the law. Do not let these corporations bully and intimidate you. I know not everyone can afford to lose two years of pay (they do do owe me my back pay though). But when I began unionizing, I always knew this was a possibility and was prepared. If you can afford it, try. It was beyond worth it and feels so good to know that I won this battle, will be getting my job a back and will continue to fight for myself and my coworkers to unionize!
Edit: didn't proof read and fixed some mistakes!
