I want to strike but I work on a government funded university. How can I get change?

I work on a public university campus in WA state. I’m in the food service industry there, as a part time student worker. Majority of our staff want to strike, but we don’t know how. We have a Union but it’s not very good. So my questions are: How do we start a strike? What do we need to prepare with? Can we get a better deal with our union? Or can we join a better Union? Our goals are humble. One free meal per shift (regardless of shift length) for all employees. The vast majority of restaurants give free food to workers, my university shouldn’t be living in the past but boast about its diversity, social awareness, and “wokeness” while it lets its workers go hungry.
