Antiwork

I wanted to fake employment at a closed business, but now I don’t think I should since there are other local locations still open.

Using a new account to ask this cause I don’t want it mixed up with my old one. I was tempted to say I worked at local restaurant as a cashier/front person checking out carry out orders that has since closed due to COVID just so I can have more experience. I even called the number to make sure it doesn’t work anymore. This position I’m applying to (research assistant) has nothing to do with working at a restaurant, except it’ll look good that I have another more experience to add (have only had one job) and I can tie in working with others and interpersonal skills and all that crap every job wants. I’d be all set to do it except it’s family owned and there are a few other locations in the county still open. So I’m afraid the company I’m applying to will dig more and figure…

I’d be all set to do it except it’s family owned and there are a few other locations in the county still open. So I’m afraid the company I’m applying to will dig more and figure it out because of this disclaimer:

[Company name] adheres to strict child safeguarding principles. All selected candidates will be expected to adhere to these standards and principles and will therefore undergo rigorous reference and background checks.

(For the record I am not going to be working with kids. The position is a research assistant involved in education statistics. I’d be their slave in entering and analyzing data, and writing researching/proofreading literature etc. So I’m a bit confused by that statement. Plus I wouldn’t be so stupid to fake an employment when it came to working with kids cause that is seriously checked out.)

Just wanted to vent that I probably won’t get this job cause I don’t have any working experience in this field. I actually fit the qualifications for education and knowledge of a certain program, and have relevant coursework, and they don’t call for experience which is nice but I’m afraid that won’t matter cause at the end it seems all companies want is ~experience~.
