I was fired and now they’re “sad” that I decided to take them to court.

I had been handling the marketing and graphic design at a company for over a year with basically no budget, no help and no structure. Even through all that I stayed; I got results, I maintained said results, I gave them everything. When the company had the gall to give out raises and overlook me, I said nothing. When the company decided to not give me a contract and have me working informally, I said nothing. Now, this wasn’t out of stupidity, but out of necessity due to the limited job opportunities in my community. I worked for peanuts even though I have an MBA in Marketing. Last Monday the company decided that they no longer needed me since they’d rather hire a foreign marketing agency to cover their needs. Last Monday the company decided that they no longer needed me since they’d rather hire a foreign marketing agency to cover their needs. During this meeting I was also “reminded” that I have no contract son I’m not entitled to anything. I got my stuff and went straight to a lawyer. I’m now taking them to court in my country’s labor board/court; after the company officials were made aware of this they messaged me telling me they were disappointed with my decision and told me that they were open to negotiations.

I’m not negotiating, I’ll make damn sure that the court knows how it is that they avoid taxes by not covering the employee’s lawful benefits and how they run the day by day operations.
