I was fired the day of my uncles funeral

So my uncle passed away a few weeks ago. We were close and this hit me hard. I booked a day of compassionate leave to attend the funeral, as is my right in my country. I got a call from my manager after the funeral, asking how the ceremony was. He then went straight into, “your position is being made redundant effective tomorrow” But they're offering me the exciting new opportunity of doing the same job for less money with less hours. I have a contract, so I've been talking to lawyers about how I can manage this best with my contact. But my contact isn't even 3 months old. I'd been there for 2 years before I got the contact. The end result is that if I push for breach of contact, they'll just have to pay me the beach fees, which are 0$ until I hit a year.…

So my uncle passed away a few weeks ago.
We were close and this hit me hard. I booked a day of compassionate leave to attend the funeral, as is my right in my country.

I got a call from my manager after the funeral, asking how the ceremony was. He then went straight into,

“your position is being made redundant effective tomorrow”

But they're offering me the exciting new opportunity of doing the same job for less money with less hours.

I have a contract, so I've been talking to lawyers about how I can manage this best with my contact. But my contact isn't even 3 months old. I'd been there for 2 years before I got the contact.

The end result is that if I push for breach of contact, they'll just have to pay me the beach fees, which are 0$ until I hit a year.

They're doing this because I pushed for the contact, they don't even have anyone to replace me, which will breach their contract with the client.

Thankfully the contractor I still across from in the office has offered me a position earning more with a chance of a career. So thats great and I'm happy about that.

But holy shit, I can't imagine how these people could look at themselves in the mirror and think they're good people.

They died me on b the day b of my uncle funeral, broke the law several times to do it. But the penalty is nothing so why wouldn't they?
