I worked there for six months. Honestly, I loved the job and the company. I thought I was a nice change of pace to a lot of bullshit we see from companies. Good benefits, good paid time off policy, RRSP matching, even a good mental health outreach program. But any respect or good will I had toward this company has been thrown out the window.
My former boss went on vacation yesterday. Her subordinant from a different city came into town to cover for her. She fired me today for 'performance issues'. What the fuck does that even mean?? No warning, no discussions, nothing at all to indicate there was any problem so severe it would lead to a dismissal. So not only did they toss me out and won't tell me a satisfactory answer as to why, but my former boss is a fucking coward and made another person who I'd never met before and someone from HR on a Webcam do it. Disgusting and pathetic.
I'm just so disappointed and disheartened. You really are just a number to these people. They will drop you for any reason, and sometimes for no reason at all.
Gotta love at will employment. All they have to do is pay you a week severance and they can cut you down anytime they want.
