I delivered updated files for a task given to me by my employer. I then received two weeks of radio silence. I have, on record, through email and Slack messages, multiple accounts of me trying to reach out to communicate with this employer, to no avail. I was trying to receive their feedback on the project so that I could incorporate whatever their thoughts were. We had an established dynamic of me creating work, setting up a one-on-one call to receive feedback or receiving video instruction, and then I would implement their critiques.
After two weeks of me trying to reach out, only to receive no replies, I finally received a call from the employer. They angrily told me that I had not done anything they had asked, and had delivered nothing the last two weeks. I received no warning, no prior expression of their thoughts– I had radio silence for two weeks, and then was fired. They accused me of not telling them that I was specifically looking for critique through my request for meetings. They added other jumbled justifications as well.
Looking back on my messages, I even explicitly asked them to tell me through message or video if they had any thoughts or tasks they wanted me to do! Yet they just fired me for allegedly “not trying to ask for advice????”
I am very shaken and frustrated. Is there anything I can do?
