I have a job with a card swipe clock-in/out thing. While typically I'm early, I recently moved and I'm still adjusting to the longer commute (35min). So today, instead of 10 minutes early, I showed up right on time and clocked in. The first thing my boss says is that I've been coming in a little late recently (not true), and that he doesn't want to have to give me a formal write-up to the higher-ups.
I've been here for about 5 months, and have quickly gotten the handle of the new position. I'm a good employee and always prompt. He was calm and nice about it, but it felt very condescending and unnecessary. I confirmed that swiping in on time was okay, and he said yes but that I was pushing it.
Boss is known for micromanaging and being nitpicky, and I should consider myself lucky this is the most he's said to me about my job performance. But how about if I show up on time, say good morning and don't threaten hard-working employees for coming in when they're supposed to.
