I’ve been looking to get out of the late night bar game, so I opted to interview at an upscale restaurant where I could expand my wine knowledge (my ultimate goal is to get into wine sales). I was pleasantly surprised at the generous hourly offered at this restaurant! When I asked about the tip out situation, the owner/manager mentioned that it was a tip pool and everyone shared. Cool, I’m familiar with that. But come to find out after talking to a few employees that they actually don’t receive any tips!! What am I supposed to do?
