I went above and beyond, now I’m asking for some slack and I’m not getting it…

I took this housekeeping job a year and half ago when I relocated to a new town. I have a degree and have worked jobs that were in my field, but I needed anything to pay the bills at the time so I took this job. I drive my own car to all my client’s houses and only get compensated for gas (not mileage aka wear and tear), and I only get compensated for the time I drive if I have to go 15+ miles out of town. I spend all day driving, cleaning, driving, cleaning. I’ve taken over the responsibility of creating my own schedules, I’m given clients farthest away, and I’m given the pickiest clients. My boss always says I’m her best employee, all my clients love me, etc. I’m super bitter because my clients pay my boss $40/hr for our services, but I’m paid $16/hr plus have…

I’m super bitter because my clients pay my boss $40/hr for our services, but I’m paid $16/hr plus have had to make expensive repairs to my already crappy car, and don’t have any bonuses, insurance, retirement, nothing on top of the $16 hr. Not to mention all the time I spend driving and even having to buy my own supplies at some points because my millionaire boss and her husband are going on yet another vacation and didn’t properly stock our supplies.

Now that I put in notice that I’m quitting, I’m getting a sob story from my boss that I didn’t give her enough time to cover my clients. I’m giving her 10 days, I tried to negotiate my start time at my new job but the start date is important to them because I need to pass a few tests and earn a few licenses.

I can’t believe that during a time that everyone is getting covid, etc, my boss had zero backup plan for the case that I get sick and can’t work for 2 weeks+. She’s really going to try to convince me that I made her life too hard, but I can’t help but feel it’s her responsibility to have a back up plan. Am I wrong for feeling this way? Some people in my life feel I’m being way too hard on her. I’m not sure.
