If an employee calls out, their employees who are working to cover the extra work should split the hourly wage of what the other would’ve made.

The company expected to pay that money anyway, and the other workers are doing extra work so not like they don’t deserve it. That extra money from the reduced hours just ends up in the pockets of those up top anyway.
