I've been working at Alorica, Inc. For over a year at this point, and aside from the unprofessional environment, constantly shifting goalposts, and unhelpful resources, the final straw for me came when I started having trouble with the equipment provided to me. I have been going back and forth with our tech support chat because the pcs they send me do not work properly, so I have to keep getting new equipment. This would not be a problem, but the company flat out stated to me that the time that I'm waiting on THEM to send me equipment that is NOT checked for QA purposes is unpaid. So the number of hours I made went from 40+ to less than 10 hours a week due to not being compensated for their faults.
When I talked with my supervisor regarding this I got the advice that since Alorica will not provide an option to recoup lost wages due to circumstances out of my control, my only option to recoup wages is to file unemployment. I don't exactly know how legal this is, but I can't imagine a scenario where starving your employee out because of multiple failures is a good business model.
I don't really expect to be working with them anymore, but I'm not sure if there is a way to maybe sue for my wages back. Otherwise, I'm losing out on thousands of dollars, which could be helpful. If anyone could give me some resources to see about the legality of this and also to see what I could do to hopefully make my money back I would appreciate it.
