If they ask you to work the weekend because “Monday is a holiday and we’re off”, don’t work.

They just want to avoid giving you the holiday pay you're entitled to, but still get your hours by moving your shift around. I've had it happen for years before but I'm not letting it happen again. If they want the full work week on a holiday week they're paying for it, not screwing me around.
