“If workers want more pay, they better be ready to pay more for product”

I don't know if this is the right place for this, but here goes. My dad (50M) and I (21F) were talking about corporate greed and I told him I think a lot of these businesses shutting down because of “short staffing” are the same ones refusing to pay their employers livable wages. Then he proceeds to go on this 'educated rant based on facts' (his words, not mine) that if people want more pay, prices in groceries, cars, etc. are gonna go up, so we're in a lose-lose situation. Then I explained to him that a lot of big name companies that are STILL refusing to pay livable wages are making more money now than they ever have before, and cutting some of that incoming wealth could potentially help pay employees more without raising costs, but it would require them to quit being so greedy. Then he ends the conversation with this idea that we shouldn't have conversations about stuff like that anymore because I “let my feelings get into it” and “it's only natural since you're a woman” which in reality, was me just deciding to agree to disagree.

How do I get him to understand that his argument doesn't work anymore? 🤔
