my job just started a new policy requiring people working certain locations to stand outside in the heat and sun to sell things, with no seats, no shade, and no sunscreen provided to us. we’re in the middle of a crazy heatwave and they expect us (we work minimum wage btw) to do the job of three people, now while getting burnt in the heat, and it makes me seriously want to quit. it’s very unfair that they don’t even provide shade. the supervisors and leads and managers have no problem with this because they aren’t the ones who have to stand in the sun. its just the lower employees who do. i don’t know if this is illegal or not but i’m going to contact my department of labor and look for a new job. it’s very frustrating
